This five-week course taught by local high school and college students introduces participants to civic engagement through creativity, collaboration, and community connection. Students will explore what makes a community, learn to listen to the experiences of others, identify issues they care about, and creatively develop solutions. The course will progress from exploring their own communities to interviewing community members and finally designing projects that communicate their ideas for positive change. The program is designed for children and will culminate in a community showcase where students present their work and invite others to participate.
